The Government Affairs Committee monitors, evaluates and informs, on a continuing basis, pending federal, state and local legislative, regulatory and legal activities that may have an impact on the Human Resource Profession. The committee will communicate SHRM legislative affairs policies and goals to SHRM chapters and members within the state and works in close cooperation with the SHRM Governmental Affairs headquarters staff. The committee may coordinate legislative activities through promoting advocacy, providing professional development on various areas of legislative affairs, and organizing campaigns designed to initiate legislative input from SHRM Members and SHRM Chapter Members in the State of North Carolina.
