Cyber Liability: What You Don’t Know can Hurt!

This course will cover cyber-breach targets, types of attacks, delivery methods, malware, and ransomware. Emphasis will be on costs for notification, credit monitoring, and methods of insuring this risk through cyber liability insurance, as well as potential impact of crisis management (public relations). The course will also discuss current insurance offerings, exclusions, and carrier positions. Finally it will provide a review of best practices for cyber prevention as well as specific recent examples of companies attacked and a case study of an actual insurance claim denial.

Course Objectives: Determine effect on financial ramifications from a cyber attack, learn correct questions to ask an insurance broker for coverage, as well as links on how to implement preventative measures and develop a disaster recovery plan.

Randy’s broad background includes over 32 years of experience in sales, operations, and manufacturing, for both domestic and international companies. Ranging from Westinghouse Electric as a manufacturing engineer to President of Interroll Corporation. He has developed the understanding and skills necessary for business development, strategic formulation, Risk Management programming, and financial analysis to maximize profitability and lower total costs.

Randy’s experience is augmented through hands-on involvement by providing cyber education classes, and city, county, civic, professional, and volunteer involvement. He understands risk mitigation through policy, process improvement, and employee involvement. Specific training through NC PRIMA, NC Tides, ARM degree, and client development has allowed Mr. Reeves to become a trusted advisor to his customers.
